1. Eligibility Requirement/Syllabus Restrictions
Newcomer: Started dancing no earlier than Fall 2009. Bronze-level syllabus from all major syllabi are allowed. Open material will be penalized. No continuity footwork. NO COSTUMES.
Bronze: Working knowledge of Bronze syllabi. Bronze-level syllabus from all major syllabi are allowed. Open material will be penalized. No continuity footwork. NO COSTUMES. YCN Rules
Silver: Working knowledge of Silver syllabi. Up to Silver-level syllabus from all major syllabi are allowed. Open material will be penalized. Costumes allowed. YCN Rules Apply
Gold: Working knowledge of Gold syllabi. Up to Gold-level syllabus from all major syllabi are allowed. Open material will be penalized. Costumes allowed. YCN Rules Apply

2. Costumes:
*Costumes: For Bronze and Newcomer men, only a black or white shirt and black pants are allowed for all dances. Ladies may wear evening or cocktail dresses. Tail suits and ball gowns not allowed for Bronze/Newcomer. All costuming is allowed for Silver and Gold.
3. Registration:
Dancers may compete in at most two consecutive levels with any partner combination so long as both partners are eligible for both levels according to YCN rules.
4. Judging:
The committee of judges is responsible for all decisions on marking, ties, and adjudication.
5. Scrutineering results:
All results will be posted if possible at the competition site and online after the competition end as soon as possible (probably next day).
6. Liability:
The organizers of this event bear no responsibility for the loss or theft of personal property. New York University & the New York University Ballroom Dance Team cannot be held liable for any injury sustained while in attendance at this event. Persons attending assume all responsibility.
7. Conduct:
The organizers may remove attendees from the premises for unruly conduct or for violation of any of the rules or guidelines, or mark down of placement or in a disqualification where necessary.
